Viktoria Maliar was born in Kyiv, Ukraine, in 1988. After earning her Bachelor's degree in Architecture, she moved to Berlin to pursue her artistic education at the Weißensee Academy of Art, where she graduated in 2019. Since 2024, Viktoria has been living and working in Dresden.

In her art, Viktoria primarily works with oil pastels on paper, wood, and canvas, breathing new life into this often-overlooked medium. With her unique approach, she reveals the richness and versatility of oil pastels, opening new perspectives for viewers and fellow artists alike.

Her work explores deeply sentimental reflections on the past, bringing imagined figures, evocative settings, and symbolic elements to life. Viktoria’s pieces convey emotions such as joy and melancholy, weaving together personal and collective memories with dreamlike aesthetics. Timeless objects and hazy details capture the fragile beauty of fading moments, celebrating the ways in which memories shape identity and a universal sense of longing.
